A Home Away From Home
We understand that it can be stressful to leave your pet when you go out of town. At Rocklin Road Animal Hospital, we want to help put your mind at ease.
We're serious animal lovers! Our team enjoys giving our boarders all the attention and care they deserve. We provide complete general pet boarding as well as basic medical boarding for pets that require medications to be administered.
Please note we do not have a veterinary technician on-site 24/7 so your pet will be alone overnight. As such we are unable to offer pet boarding for complex medical cases.
Pet Boarding: A Typical Day
Dog Boarding
We have 14 indoor runs, 9 covered outdoor runs, and a fenced-in play area. Dogs that stay with us are housed in our indoor runs.
Dogs will be let out to one of our outdoor runs while their main run is cleaned and disinfected. Dogs are also taken outside for supervised exercise time in the play yard as often as possible, when weather permits. We aim to get your dog out at least once every other hour.
Larger runs are available for multiple pet boarding. Our technicians can offer bathing for an additional charge.
Cat Boarding
Our boarding cats are kept in cages in a cozy laundry room, much like they might have at home. They are observed and interacted with often.
Litter boxes are cleaned regularly and cages are disinfected daily.
Medical Pet Boarding
Limited medical boarding is available. Our vet techs are able to administer medication to your pet.
Any required medications will be administered to your pet on the same schedule they are used to at home.
Pet Boarding Prices
Puppies & Kittens (6m-2y): $63/day
Dogs (2y+): $55/day

- How should I prepare for my pet's stay?
Each animal is different. To prepare for your pet's stay with us, we'll take the following steps to ensure that we can meet their unique needs.
Step 1: Contact us to get started
Call us to book, and to discuss details about your pet and your boarding needs. A member of our team will be happy to coordinate your booking.
Please note that we do not accept aggressive dogs or cats. Pets must be up to date with all vaccinations and free of fleas and ticks to stay at our facility. Proof of vaccinations and flea and tick control is required. All new boarders will require a temperature assessment.
Step 2: Book a trial stay
We want to be absolutely sure that we are a good fit for your pet before an extended stay. The trial stay consists of a full day of daycare where we can take the time to assess your pet's temperament and make sure they fit in with the pack.
Step 3: Set your pet up for success
On the day you drop your pet off with us, there are a few steps you can take to help reduce any stress your pet may feel.
Spend some extra time with your pet beforehand, and make sure they get some vigorous exercise so that they are feeling calm. When you arrive at our facility, stay calm, cheerful, and confident during the separation.
- What do you feed animals that don't have their own food?
For pets that are not on a special diet, we can provide high-quality pet food that is appropriate for the size and breed of your pet. An additional fee will apply.
However, we do recommend that you pack your own food so pet's don't get stomach problems from switching their food while boarding.
